The role in a nutshell

In support of the Head of Accounts Receivable, the role of Billing & Credit Controller is responsible  for a portfolio of designated partner accounts. Dealing with the accurate calculation and processing of invoices and credit notes. Collection of global commercial debts through effective customer chasing, efficient query resolution and timely allocation of receipts.

Day to day responsibilities 

  • Be UNiDAYS first point of contact for billing and credit control related activity for a designated  portfolio of accounts, dealing with online retailers, media agencies and affiliate networks
  • Chase and collect global debt in line with departmental metrics and company policy
  • Work to strict month end deadlines in a methodical and organised manner
  • Proactively chase payment through e-mails and phone calls  
  • Resolve queries in a timely and effective manner  
  • Internal and External customer service  
  • Negotiating payment plans  
  • Send dunning cycle letters  
  • Produce and distribute monthly statement of accounts  
  • Post and allocate bank receipts; accurately and promptly 
  • Assist with Bank reconciliations  
  • Take credit card payments over the phone  
  • Escalate non-paying partners through agreed internal process 
  • Monitor and report on Aged Debt and non-paying customers via the “Watchlist” process
  • Be responsible for the upkeep and general maintenance of customer master data within relevant  systems  
  • Assist with the monthly billing cycle and gain full knowledge and understanding of the billing and  collection processes 
  • Process invoices and credit notes in line with contractual agreements  
  • Upload invoices to supplier portals in line with contractual agreements  
  • Open new customer accounts and validate statutory information  
  • Complete supplier onboarding forms  
  • Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Any other tasks as delegated

What You Have Done 

  • Billing and credit control experience  
  • Previously dealt with B2B accounts 
  • Experience of dealing with customers on a global scale  
  • Previous exposure of working closely with a commercial sales team 
  • Systems knowledge - Microsoft Dynamics Nav and/or Business Central and Salesforce
  • IT skills such as using VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables etc. 
  • Be financially astute with a high level of numerical skills  
  • Financial awareness - understanding of the Sales Ledger and month end duties
