Work.Life is a flex workspace provider for businesses who care about people.

We believe that happy teams deliver measurable benefits for businesses. That’s why everything we do, from workspace design to delivering a best-in-class personal service, is designed to create happy working environments. We have shared workspaces across London, Reading and Manchester; 7,000+ members; and an amazing team of 60 who share our ambition to redefine the workspace experience for the better.

But the fun’s not over yet, and to keep our members’ happiness and engagement at the forefront of what we do, it’s important we find our own team’s best work-selves.

We do that by offering a supportive working environment, plenty of training and development opportunities, a competitive salary, monthly wellness package, Team Joy, quarterly socials, and more, so you can work happier.

Your role

This is a unique opportunity, as we are looking for a talented and passionate manager who is eager to take the reins of our Roaming Team, whose purpose is to support our spaces and drive them forward as if they were their own. Must be a people-person, fun-loving, organised, insanely efficient, agile, and someone who doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty if necessary!

Your role is to exemplify best Membership practices, and to support our growing portfolio of spaces to thrive as businesses, communities and workspaces. You’ll do this by managing a team that is laser focused on the community, operations and commerciality of Work.Life, a place where our members love to work, giving them everything they need to run their businesses smoothly.

We trust our managers to run their spaces like their own business, which means driving sales and keeping the business profitable. In your capacity leading the Roaming Team, you’ll be supporting these efforts across multiple spaces, as well as making strategic decisions around where your team’s support can be most valuable.

If this is something you can handle; we want to hear from you.

Your day to day

Operations

-Manage roaming team schedules, ensuring our spaces are always well staffed in times of holiday or sickness, and that support is optimised outside of this.

-Oversee a team of roaming Membership Assistants and an Assistant Manager, ensuring they feel connected, engaged and appropriately challenged.

-Enable your roaming team’s success through training, feedback, and enhancing both broad and location-specific knowledge of membership responsibilities. Your team should become champions of the Work.Life way!

-Be the example of Membership best practices, keeping your knowledge of the Membership role and new initiatives or processes fully up to date. This should cover all sales and revenue related responsibilities (such as P&L management, tours, contract negotiations and renewals) as well as community and space management, as per the Membership Manager role & responsibilities.

-Support efforts to encourage those best practices across all spaces by coaching and energising teams on your visits, and by supporting efforts to make useful knowledge easily accessible at all times, via tools such as Guru and good internal comms.

-Be a key link between support teams and spaces to help translate initiatives and improve shared processes.

-When covering in a space, lead the business as if it were your own. Take ownership for great handovers both in and out of the cover period.

-Be there for our space teams in times of need! Be ready to react and support where there may be an unexpected need such as sickness/ absence and holiday cover.

-Work directly with the Area Managers on any issues to ensure the highest level of member experience and satisfaction.

Sales & revenue

-When supporting a location, take ownership of sales & revenue initiatives. These will likely include inbound interest as well as pro-active sales opportunities. In an ideal world, building occupancy will increase under your watch!

-Seek out and maximise additional revenue opportunities such as meeting rooms, event hire, customisation extras and short term space usage.

-Manage contracts and invoices relating to new and existing members.

Create a collaborative community – internally & externally

-Build meaningful connections for our members through events, personal introductions, and networking. You have a unique opportunity to help connect members across our locations!

-Check in regularly with members to understand their pain points, what’s working, and how we can continue to improve.

-Develop Work.Life’s presence externally: we want you to be an ambassador for what we do and what we believe in!

-Oversee events from weekly, space-wide events to unique events that you design and put on for our communities.

-Update and complete membership records as appropriate to ensure information is accurate and current.

Be part of our growth strategy

-Help grow Work.Life through your entrepreneurial approach to running a great business.

-Be a key part of our mission to become the UK’s favourite coworking provider.
