What You’ll Do

Serve as the main point of contact to drive the success (and ultimately, renewal) of our sales and strategic partners post-signing/negotiations. This includes:

  • Partner Relationship Management:
    • Build strong relationships with Partners to understanding their unique needs and goals.
    • Collaborate closely with Partners to gather insights, align marketing strategies with their brand guidelines, and provide regular updates on campaign performance.
  • Marketing Strategy Development:
    • Develop integrated marketing strategies tailored to the Partner's objectives, target audience, and budget.
    • Identify appropriate marketing channels, define key messages, and outline timelines/goals.
  • Campaign Execution and Coordination:
    • Oversee the implementation of marketing campaigns, coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution
    • Managing communication and planning leading up to events/activations for internal teams.
      • ie) Creative, media planners, content creators, digital marketers, engineering, product, design, etc..
  • Branding and Positioning:
    • Work with partners to refine their brand positioning and messaging, ensuring alignment with Chess.com's brand and long-term mutual success.
  • Channel Management:
    • Determine the most effective channels, features, and products for a campaign to achieve specific KPI's for partners and Chess.com
      • ie) advertising, digital marketing, social media, content marketing, events, public relations, and other relevant platforms.
  • Performance Analysis and Reporting:
    • Measure and analyze the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, using various metrics and analytics tools.
    • Provide regular reports to Partners, highlighting key performance indicators, campaign results, and recommendations for future improvements.
    • Hold weekly/quarterly calls with Partners to communicate updates, changes, metrics, and results.
  • Budgeting and Resource Allocation:
    • Manage the marketing budget allocated by the partner, ensuring efficient resource allocation across different marketing activities.
      • ie) Product development, internal team time/resources, social campaigns, events, creator/influencer coordination, etc..


Preferred Skills

  • 5+ years of partnership / key account management experience, ideally from gaming and/or other sports industry
  • Strong discipline and ability to manage multiple project timelines and responsibilities for multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills working in a fully distributed team
  • Sense of ownership and responsibility
  • Strong relationship-building instincts
  • People and purpose centric approach to doing business
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Familiar with Chess.com platform and community: not necessary, but a plus if you are!
  • Interest in and love of chess not required, but a plus
  • Must be based in the U.S. or Canada

About the Opportunity

  • This is a full-time position
