Product Design at Bloom & Wild
The role of the product team at Bloom & Wild is to create value for our customers and for Bloom & Wild by developing user facing (e.g. website, apps) and internal digital product (e.g. warehouse technologies). We are a team of 18 people including Product Managers and Product Designers who report to the Chief Product Officer with the team located in London, Amsterdam and fully remote. Over 60% of our Product team identify as female.
The product design team operates as a Centralised Partnership model — we have a unified purpose, rituals and processes — while embedded in squads operating across eCommerce, Apps, and Design Systems.

As we continue our mission become Europe’s #1 online gifting destination, we are looking to hire a Product Designer to join as an Individual Contributor in our Checkout & Payments squad.
Our eComm & apps team is formed of 4 squads, with the Checkout & Payments squad responsible for making thoughtful gifting an effortless experience, for both Bloom & Wild and Bloomon. Each squad includes a Product Manager, Product Designer, Engineering Manager, Engineers and Testers; while collaborating closely with Research, Analysts, and internal stakeholders across Commercial, Brand & Creative, and Range teams.
The role and ways of working:You’ll join the Checkout & Payments squad as an individual contributor, and be a member of the Product Design team. Partnering with the PM, you’ll be responsible for the end-to-end product design process, to design and deliver features and experiences across Bloom and Wild and bloomon website. Collaborate with PMs, Researchers, Analysts and stakeholders to design experiences that demonstrate an understanding of business requirements and meet the needs and expectations of the customer. You’ll work closely with the product and design, research, brand and business stakeholders to gain insights, requirements and feedback into your work. You are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional groups, often facilitating workshops, to gather input and help groups to break down complex problems into simple, solvable outcomes. You collaborate closely with engineers to understand potential constraints, blockers and opportunities to shape and inform your designs. Constantly look for ways to improve our digital experience — from optimising squad metrics, identifying the right opportunities, to driving improvements in usability, copy, accessibility, design system adoption and brand expression. You will run user research sessions to drive discovery, test designs and validate hypotheses to develop a deep empathy for our customers.
You:Craft: You can design effortless experiences that bring joy to our customers. Combining clearly defined content, information architecture, and creative flair to create delightful, innovative, mobile-first user experiences that solve customer and business problems. Discovery: You are curious, pragmatic and comfortable with complexity, with a portfolio that demonstrates examples of the end to end product discovery and delivery process you’ve followed — from inception, problem framing and ideation, through to delivery, outcomes, and any iterations and optimisations. Problem solving: You are proactive in developing a strong customer empathy, and are able combining qualitative and quantitative evidence, best practices and benchmarking to inform your design thinking and approach. Open, curious and collaborative: You’re a team player with a growth mindset — comfortable facilitating inclusive, collaborative environments to foster co-creation, proactively sharing early and often, and inviting input and critique. Communication: You’re a confident and structured communicator, able to explain your design decisions through evidence-informed rationale. Leadership: You are a partner to the PM in your squad, providing design thinking to support identifying opportunities, shaping out and contributing to the squad roadmap, and driving the success of your domain.
It would be nice if you also:
Previous experience: Designing in a direct to consumer eCommerce, and/or experience working with transactional experiences.User research: You are comfortable with independently leading on user research, identifying and conducting the appropriate activities to gather feedback and validate your designs.Design systems: Comfortable with following conventions set by a design system, extending and contributing to pattern libraries. Accessibility: Previous experience designing products that meet accessibility standards and compliance guidelines such as WCAGContent design: experience designing content-led experiences and flows that demonstrate a knowledge of how to communicate clearly and concisely to the customer, while injective brand tone of voice at timely and appropriate moments.Tooling: Comfortable with Figma, with experience using components and styles from shared Libraries.

Our Hiring Process
The majority of our interview process will take place remotely via video. This will involve an initial chat with Shannon, our Senior Talent Associate, followed by a run through of your portfolio with Chris (Director of Digital Product Design) and Caitlin (Senior Product Manager), a live critique session with some of our designers and then a final conversation with Joe, our CPO.
