About the Healthy Ageing 2023 Innovation Pitch Zone

Zinc and UKRI are proud to be partnering on an innovation pitch zone at this year's Healthy Ageing 2023 conference. This showcase, taking place on 14th November (day 2 of the conference) will spotlight innovative projects from across the UKRI Healthy Ageing Challenge portfolio that are helping people remain active, productive, independent and socially connected as they age.

We're inviting people to apply to pitch for 3 minutes (+ 5 minutes of questions) in front of a judging panel made up of investors, health partners and those with lived experience.

Finalists stand the chance of winning one of five accolades, awarded at the end of the conference:

1. Most compelling pitch
2. Most investable project
3. Most transformative social impact
4. Most innovative product or service
5. Overall winner

Requirements

Applications are open to UKRI Healthy Ageing Challenge-funded projects from all types of organisations, disciplines and sectors.

Applications will be assessed on the following criteria:

1. Significance of problem and opportunity for innovation: Clear problem impacting quality of later life, compelling, unmet needs and lack of effective solutions.

2. Transformative potential of the idea: Ideas for a product/service and route to market that map on to the problem and have potential for impact at scale.

3. Impact readiness and suitability of the team: The right motivation, skills in the team, commitment and resources to drive the project towards its impact potential
