Community Relationship Executive (12 months FTC)

The Locked Library is a subscription box curated by HarperVoyager and Magpie Books for fans of fantasy, science fiction and YA.  

We are seeking a passionate and entrepreneurial Community Relationship Executive to join our team of book lovers.

As one of the Locked Librarians, you’ll love reading and be immersed in the world of books on social media. You will play a pivotal role in engaging and nurturing our community of subscribers, as well as reaching new readers. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of activities aimed at building a strong, interactive, and inclusive community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and curate engaging content across all digital channels (Social Media, newsletter, website)

  • Create engaging visual assets, from Instagram Reels to photography

  • Be the main point of contact for social media queries, monitoring and responding to comments and queries from our community

  • Liaise with customer service and distribution teams to resolve customer queries

  • Develop and execute social media campaigns, contests, and promotions to drive community growth and engagemen

  • Identify and curate user-generated content to showcase the community engagement

  • Organise virtual events, live Q&A sessions, and online book clubs to enhance community engagement

  • Collaborate with production, editorial and marketing teams to ensure social media content aligns with publishing strategy and timeline

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to community engagement and social media metrics, providing regular reports and monitoring impact on sales

Desired Experience and Qualities:

  • A passion for reading and love of fantasy and science fiction

  • Proven experience in community management, social media management, or a related role

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience using graphic design software e.g. Canva, Photoshop

  • Basic video editing experience e.g. TikTok, Instagram Reels

  • Familiarity with social media scheduling tools and analytics platforms

  • Empathetic and customer-focused approach to handling community interactions

  • Creative mindset with the ability to generate engaging content ideas

  • A natural collaborator who loves working as part of the team

  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines

  • Desired, but not essential: experience with book publishing, subscription boxes, or similar industries
