We're looking for motivated and resourceful individuals, with a passion for nature to help us create markets that unlock nature positive investments.

Main Purpose:

To build ‘market readiness’ for CreditNature’s innovative nature market solutions and secure investment and corporate purchase commitments for ecosystem credit and assessment products.

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with corporations, banks and investors willing to invest in nature-based assets and initiatives.
  • Secure investment commitments from corporations for the purchase of Nature Impact Tokens (digital certifications as a mechanism to generate business value and invest in nature recovery).
  • Promote corporate and investor understanding and adoption of CreditNature’s nature-positive financial products and services in the context of broader market trends to support nature-positive strategies and corporate sustainability disclosure reporting.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of business strategies and plans aimed at securing sustainable growth through nature-based investment.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and agree digital environmental asset (token) purchase, custody, accounting and reporting protocol.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop and agree token pricing, valuation and trading models and protocol.
  • Actively engage in and contribute to international nature market design initiatives, including the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD).
  • Monitor and report on nature finance market trends and developments, providing insights and recommendations to inform decision-making and strategy development.
  • Develop and distribute investment case studies and buyer prospectus.
  • Participate in nature finance work groups, task forces and conferences.

About you:

You will have a strong understanding of the concepts of nature finance, including the valuation of ecosystem services and and natural capital accounting. Excellent communication and presentation skills would also be a huge advantage within our team. You will ideally also have strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage and negotiate with corporations and investors.

A passion for and commitment to environmental sustainability and conservation would be desirable.

Experience & Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, environmental science, or a related field.

Desirable:

  • A master's degree in finance, environmental management, sustainability, or a related field.
  • Certification or completion of courses related to finance, such as the Investment Management Certificate (IMC), or similar.
  • Professional qualifications such as the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 1, or similar.
  • Completion of fintech, blockchain, or digital asset related courses or certifications.
  • Certificates or courses on sustainability reporting, such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards certification.
  • Full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle.

Job type: Full time permanent. 

Start date: September/October 2023

Salary: £32,000 - £35,000 depending on experience.

Location: Hybrid – preferably Edinburgh, Scotland or if not then Harwell Innovation Centre, Oxfordshire; either location combined with home working.
