Collins schools publishing delivers up-to-date and engaging student resources and exceptional teacher support to help UK and International schools tackle new initiatives and utilise the latest technology. The small Product Development team are content developers and editorial project managers, working with authors and freelancers to create print and digital resources from the publisher’s brief to final sign off. We are looking for a Junior Project Manager to support the Digital Product Manager and the team in ensuring digital products are developed and maintained efficiently and to a high standard. This is a vital role with scope to progress and take responsibility for projects and processes. It would be suitable for someone who is confident working digitally, with an interest in both publishing and education technology (EdTech). Prior experience in a similar role is not compulsory.

Key Responsibilites

  • Manages ongoing production and updating of ebooks and audio

  • Assists with product support across digital products and platforms such as Adapt (collinsadapt.co.uk); running webinars and creating and updating user guides and videos

  • Involved with ongoing digital content management, including content upload and maintenance, reporting on content usage and making in-platform corrections

  • Escalation point for digital customer support team, triaging queries assisting with resolution.

  • Contributes to the scoping/development of new products and/or new features of existing products

  • With support, managing digital-first projects

Your First Six Months

You will quickly become comfortable with digital products and processes at Collins. You will be increasingly familiar with the education landscape and with key considerations for different end users. You will become confident taking responsibility for ongoing management of projects and workstreams such as ebook and audio, with increasing autonomy and an understanding of when escalation is required. You will be comfortable asking questions, proposing alternative viewpoints, solutions or improvements and explaining your reasoning and will feel your voice is heard and valued.

Experience Required

  • Experience in an administrative role needing accuracy

  • Organisation and prioritisation while working to deadlines

  • Consideration of customer/user experience

  • Appropriate professional communication

Skills Required

  • Interest in edtech / digital innovation

  • Interest in UX – making the experience as positive as possible for the end user

  • Confident working digitally – apps/software etc.

  • Collaborative – able to work and communicate effectively with a range of different stakeholders within the business, from sales & marketing, editorial, developers, designers

  • Able to manage your own time and prioritise tasks with support

  • Able to translate requests from customers/stakeholders into requirements for developers, and vice versa (distil technical information from developers into need-to know summaries for stakeholders)

  • Thorough thinker – able to work through the ramifications of changes or new features in digital products and platforms.

  • No coding/software development knowledge required
