With our very first store open for business, and a few more up our sleeve, we're looking for a Retail Operations Coordinator to support our team as we grow.
What you'll be getting up to
Boutique Store operations
- Oversee routine operations – from ensuring the bins are emptied to making sure the windows are clean! You'll also oversee back of house orders for things like stationary and consumables.
- Weekly check of H&S logs, escalating any concerns to the Chief of Staff.
- Support with in-store events, coordinating between store teams, ROM and Brand team.
- Network with local businesses, research community links and events in collaboration with store managers.
- Project manage the volunteer team on new store set up days, ensuring everyone knows their role and is equipped to work efficiently.
Tech
- Get to grips with Shopify POS and become our in-house expert.
- Act as point of contact for store team queries re tech, liaising with our IT support around new tech requirements.
- Provide support with Shopify testing where required, ensuring the Head of Customer Happiness and the Head of Operations have signed off any operational changes.
Hiring
- Post and maintain Retail job adverts on various platforms.
- Conduct initial sift, and pass strong candidates through to Store Managers/ROM.
- Support managers with retail-specific training during onboarding.
Retail resources
- Compile regular updates for store teams, ensuring they have access to all the information they need to succeed.
- Oversee Retail team on Teams – be on hand for queries, escalating to relevant member of HQ team where required.
- Ensure Retail handbooks are up to date, reflecting any changes made in HQ business. Identify any additional requirements and coordinate creation.
- Ensure that P+Ps are regularly reviewed and up to date, with sign off from relevant managers.
- Oversee central uniform ordering and dispatch.
Misc
- Become the expert on our Retail Operations, answering any front-line queries from HQ team, escalating to ROM as required.
- Sense check all store payroll data to ensure it’s in line with expectations and budget.
- Ensure retail teams are equipped to complete stocktakes in line with standard operating procedure and support with any further investigation as required.
- Supporting with collation of commercial reporting including weekly, monthly store reports, gathering feedback on performance from store managers as required and tracking KPIs.
- Seek and develop knowledge about competitor activity, communicating this to the global retail team and identifying opportunities to promote the store
- Oversee retail training records, ensuring each store has appropriate first aid, MHFA and fire training.
Who we're looking for
- This is a busy and varied role, so you'll need to be supremely organised and able to priortise tasks.
- Coordinator is the key word here! You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring people across the business are updated and aware of key information, so you'll need to build great relationships with a variety of people.
- You'll need to be proactive and enthusiastic - there is a huge amount of potential in our brand new retail operations, and you will really have the opportunity to make your mark.
- You'll require a driving license and access to your own vehicle. You'll be based from your home (or potentially one of our stores) most of the time, but you'll be out visiting stores, sometimes for a couple of days at a time, at least once a fortnight.
- Our first few stores will be located in Harrogate, Bath and Tunbridge Wells. We're open to candidiates from different locations, but we'll be mindful of travel time when assessing applications.
