About the Team
We’re a team of strategic marketers focused on expanding Thumbtack’s reach and awareness through new and existing acquisition efforts. Our goal is to attract and acquire new customers to fuel our top funnel, while strategically balancing bottomline goodness.We work closely with cross-functional partners (Brand, Product, Engineering, and Data Science) to drive growth on both sides of Thumbtack’s marketplace. We are nimble, and innovative and our team’s mission is to help customers solve their home care needs by discovering and using Thumbtack’s platform.
About the Role
We are looking for a marketing enthusiast and expert who has had experience working across multiple marketing functions, especially within the paid media landscape - OTT, CTV, Linear, OOH, Audio, Paid Social, Influencer marketing etc. The ideal candidate is energetic and a self-starter willing to dig in and own the foundation of any marketing program. They can ramp up quickly and work effectively with little oversight and prioritize and manage their own work, clearly tying it to the goals of the larger team, and the business as a whole. If you are a marketing professional that prides themselves on having a breadth of expertise across performance and brand media marketing disciplines - this is the right role for you. We are looking for someone who has had experience balancing top of funnel growth with a contribution conscious approach.
Responsibilities
- Portfolio Media Planning: Develop and execute data-driven marketing strategies that enhance brand awareness, acquisition, and engagement across the paid media landscape: OTT, CTV, Linear, Audio etc. Key aspects of this role included portfolio budget management of media channels by understanding how they interact with other performance marketing channels like SEM, SEO, MAI etc
- Measurement and Testing - Strong analytical background is key for this role. In partnership with data science teams, you will drive the testing roadmap (e.g. incrementality, brand lift, etc.) and explore new toolkits/methodologies to elevate our measurement sophistication
- Big picture thinking: Analyze company wide reports, product roadmaps etc. to extract insights and transform those insights into actionable changes that will improve media strategy across several touch-points.
- Customer Insights: Understand our target customer and leverage those insights to improve performance across our media portfolio and identify new opportunities to explore.
- Creative: Partner with the brand and creative teams to concept, produce, refine, and iterate thumb-stopping performance branding creative that tells our brand story while achieving KPIs
- Communication and Collaboration: Ability to influence and work closely with cross-functional partners and leaders to share performance, insights, and test new opportunities.
What you’ll need

Education: BS or BA, focus in marketing or quantitative discipline (Statistics, Business, Economics) preferred.
Experience and Motivation
- 5-7 years of experience managing, scaling & overseeing performance and media marketing channels like CTV, OTT, Linear TV,Youtube, Streaming Audio and OOH, etc. Paid social and affiliate marketing is a nice-to-have.
- Has an understanding of the halo-impact brand campaigns drive across the funnel and have the ability to translate the learnings into actionable insights.
- High attention to detail and the ability to set and hit aggressive project deadlines
- Ability to thrive within a fast-paced, high stakes but incredibly supportive Growth Marketing team
- Clear, concise communication style and comfort working with a diverse group of people
- Highly analytical and data driven with a strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, vlookups).
Bonus points if you have
- Experience working with brands that have successfully scale brand presence with concerted media efforts
- Experience in a marketplace company and/or high-growth startup
- Experience testing new channels from scratch
- Experience handling upwards of $XXM yearly program budgets
