At Beam, you get to do work that really matters. We’re solving the world’s toughest social problems. And we’re growing fast 🚀

It’s not easy. Nothing worth doing ever is. But we take care of everyone who works here with everything from coaching to personal budgets and highly competitive salaries.

You’ll be joining a company that’s having a huge impact on people’s lives with a culture where you can be yourself, have fun and progress rapidly.

The Role

We’re looking for a Sales Lead to launch Beam’s first suite of AI products. Reporting to our Co-Founder and COO, you’ll be at the forefront of transforming how care is delivered across the UK.

Our first product, Magic Notes, is an AI-powered tool currently in the pilot phase but already generating results. Along with saving caseworkers considerable amounts of time, there’s been a lot of excitement around pioneering a truly tangible use of AI that improves the lives of residents and provides the first step in local government’s journey into using AI across services.

Your role is to secure rapid adoption of Magic Notes across local government and other verticals.

This is a hands-on role - you’ll spend most of your time researching and building a strong pipeline and diplomatically moving prospects down it. We’re looking for someone comfortable formulating sales strategies before executing them. This is a rare opportunity to be on the ground floor of one of the UK’s leading ‘tech for good’ start-ups as we build out an AI software division that can touch millions of lives in the years to come.

Being part of a new division within Beam will mean experimenting, learning from our mistakes and successes, along influencing the product team's direction based on partner feedback and market demands.

You’ll be

  • Building pipeline generation: independently building a robust pipeline to ensure a consistent flow of meetings with qualified opportunities

  • Driving outreach and engagement: hustling by using email, phone calls and events to identify and speak with key decision-makers

  • Relationship building: where appropriate, cultivating strong customer relationships and upselling or cross-selling opportunities

  • Reporting: maintaining records of sales activities and deal progress in our CRM, enabling accurate forecasts and data-driven insights

  • Continually innovating: contributing to areas beyond your primary responsibilities, including product development and strategy

You'll have

  • Demonstrable experience in SaaS sales ideally a technical product being sold to non-technical audiences

  • A strategic and systemic approach - a strong understanding of how to build, track and manage an effective data-driven sales strategy and pipeline

  • Incredible discovery techniques - strong listening and questioning skills to uncover critical information, identify decision makers, and understand client problems where Beam can help

  • A creative, growth mindset - when there’s a bottleneck, bringing solutions and novel ideas for experimentation that optimise the sales process

  • Confident negotiation skills - demonstrating persuasive skills to efficiently and effectively close deals

  • An adaptive and resilient mindset - you thrive in a dynamic environment and are optimistic about overcoming obstacles while maintaining motivation

  • Drive to network - quickly building rapport and establishing trust to develop meaningful relationships with senior stakeholders

  • Focus to achieve impact - you thrive working towards ambitious individual KPIs

Success looks like

  • Proactively built a pipeline, researching and closing leads to meaningfully contribute to Beam AI’s growth targets in 2024

  • Created and honed a repeatable, streamlined sales motion

  • Provided strategic insight to the Product and Sales team, helping to identify new areas of growth

  • Built relationships with strategically important councils and government partners

  • Contributed to the business case for expanding the Beam SaaS sales function, looking to build out a team – some of whom may report to you
