Role Summary

  • Autonomously manage the daily operations of the community sauna site.

Job Description:

The Site Manager at CIC Sauna Stratford is responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of the community sauna site, facilities, customers and sauna team.This full-time position involves working four days a week on-site and one day a week in the office.

The Stratford Site Manger will report into our managing director and will be expected to be autonomous in approach and fully responsible for all day-to-day operations of the sauna site. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the unique vibe of the site and maintaining our principles of inclusivity, affordability and authenticity. 

A big part of the role will be supporting managing the wider gardens and working with our landlord to activate the space 

This is a hands on and out of doors role that is physically demanding and is delivered in all weather conditions. We are open 7 days a week so weekend work will be required. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Managing the sauna experience, creating and maintaining a safe environment for the Sauna bathing community.
  • Creative licence to improve the sauna environment, through physical installations, customer enhancements and event ideas
  • Creating and maintaining site specific SOPs , and ensuring adherence to SOPs
  • Managing the upkeep and implementation of risk assessments and making sure policy is adhered to
  • Hiring, managing, motivating and training sauna attendants
  • Putting together a weekly/monthly staff rota
  • Managing timesheets
  • Managing onboarding and training of new staff
  • Monitoring sauna consumables (e.g. wood, cleaning products) and managing orders
  • Identifying areas to improve the sauna site
  • Working with the marketing team on promotions and events
  • Staff appraisal and wellbeing in the work environment. 

Requirements:

  • A good understanding of and personal interest in health and wellness.
  • Experience in community focused grass roots organisations, at delivery level.
  • Knowledge and experience of authentic Sauna practices.
  • Management or supervisory experience.
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Commitment to good customer care.
  • A calm, caring and reassuring manner with public and community members. 
  • A right to work in the UK
  • Previous experience in a similar managerial role.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills 
  • In-depth knowledge of sauna operation, maintenance, and safety protocols. Or willingness to learn.
  • Strong organizational abilities to oversee site maintenance, repairs, and scheduling.
  • A customer-focused mindset with the ability to handle and resolve customer concerns.
  • An ability to adapt and think on your feet is crucial in this role.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work both on-site and in an office-based role.
