We seek an experienced leader drive forward our ambitious plans to deliver more support, fitness, clubs and leisure activities to children and young people with disabilities and additional needs and their families.

What will you be doing?

F6IT (pronounced FIT) provides unique holistic and family-centred approach to supporting children and young people with disabilities and additional needs, by providing, amongst others, accessible and inclusive sports groups, clubs and much-needed family support hubs to over 100 families/children in the area.  Although a fledgling charity, F6IT has ambitious plans over the next 2 years to more than triple its range of services and impact and, in the longer term, build a specialist support facility.  As the Chair you would:

Lead the Board and CEO in developing a growth strategy and setting priorities Ensure high standards of governance with full legal and regulatory compliance Manage Board meetings efficiently instilling open communication and collaboration Track performance and ensure good financial management with the Board and CEO Identify potential risks and opportunities and develop strategies to manage Represent the Charity and build relationships with key stakeholders and partners Ensure the Board and organisation have requisite resources, skills and values Manage succession planning of the Board and executive leadership Review and appraise the performance and development of the CEO and Board

What are we looking for?

Essential experience and skills:

Proven track record in a leadership position Strong understanding of governance principles and best practices Complete understanding of Trustee legal responsibilities and liabilities Strategic, incisive with sound judgement and problem solving skills Ability to manage complexity Delivery and quality orientated Excellent communication and organisational skills Collaborative with excellent interpersonal skills Create a motivating environment

  Desired experience and skills:

Experience in charity sector Experience building strategic relationships Experience in significant fund raising
