What will you be doing?
We believe that children need a happy and secure childhood and that parents play a key role in giving their children a good start in life, helping them to achieve their full potential. Rooted in the communities we serve, we aim to make a lasting and positive impact on the development of children and the health and wellbeing of the family. As an HR trustee you will play a dynamic role, part of a small team steering and sustaining the charity. You will use your skills and experience to help improve policies and practices, reach more families in marginalised and disadvantaged communities, enable staff to flourish and recruit volunteers representative of the families we support.
What are we looking for?
The responsibilities of the HR Trustee include chairing the board's HR group; supporting the recruitment, interviewing and appointment of staff; dealing with staff employment issues; keeping abreast of employment law; liaising closely with the board chair and staff manager; keeping the board advised as necessary.
What difference will you make?
As part of our board you can apply your existing HR skills and experience, giving back what you have learned along the way. For your own personal development you can grow your experience and knowledge of the voluntary sector with training and the support of experiences board members.
