What will you be doing?
The interviews are scheduled to take place in Kensington, London (SW7 2SR) from Tuesday 23rd of April to Thursday 25th of April. Volunteers are expected to commit to working from 9am to 5pm each day, with multiple breaks provided throughout the day. PLEASE NOTE: This role is unpaid; however, travel expenses will be covered. Additionally, individuals who have applied or will be applying for a 2024 Flying or Gliding Scholarship are ineligible to participate. The key tasks of this role are:
Conduct interviews with flying scholarship applicants in interview teams of two. A pre-prepared list of interview questions will be provided. Ensure candidates are comfortable and understand the purpose of the interview. Many candidates will be below 18 years of age. Work collaboratively with the other member of the Selection Committee to assess the performance of candidates using a competency-based assessment form. Provide candidates feedback on their interview performance, communication and interpersonal skills immediately post interview. Provide candidates with guidance on the selection process timelines as well as the other scholarship and outreach programmes the Air League offer.
The key deliverable of your role is to identify the most deserving recipients of the Air League's Flying Scholarships.
What are we looking for?
Key Skills & Experience:
Recruitment and selection experience, including involvement in face-to-face and virtual interviews. Excellent verbal and written communication, especially with candidates below the age of 18. Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills. Aviation and aerospace knowledge. Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Must have a minimum of a Basic DBS Check.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
Experience of interviewing candidates below the age of 18.
