What will you be doing?
Deputy Treasurer to assist the treasurer in managing the organisation's finances. This role involves tasks such as record-keeping, budgeting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The deputy treasurer may also step in for the treasurer when needed and provide support in making financial decisions that align with the charity's goals and mission. Additionally, they might collaborate with other board members to develop fundraising strategies and monitor the financial health of the organisation.
What are we looking for?
Financial Skills:
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Ability to create and analyse financial statements. Understanding of budgeting and financial planning processes. Familiarity with relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements for charities.
Experience:
Previous experience in financial management, accounting, or auditing roles. Experience with financial software and tools for budgeting, reporting, and analysis. Experience working in or with nonprofit organizations, understanding their unique financial challenges and opportunities.
Leadership and Collaboration:
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with other board members, the treasurer, and finance staff. Strong communication skills to convey financial information clearly to stakeholders. Leadership skills to step in for the treasurer when necessary and provide guidance on financial matters.
Attention to Detail:
Being meticulous and detail-oriented to ensure accuracy in financial records and reports. Ability to identify discrepancies and investigate financial irregularities.
