We're expanding our Board, looking for an experienced Treasurer to take over from our existing Treasurer who'll be standing down in Nov 2024. The successful candidate will shadow our existing Treasurer and receive a thorough handover.

What will you be doing?
Our charity helps local families with at least one child under 5 years deal with the challenges they face. We intervene early, supporting parents as they learn to cope, improve their confidence, and build better lives for their children. We are a highly respected organisation and truly embedded in our local community. The Treasurer plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and transparency of the organisation and works closely with the CEO, finance officer, Chair of Trustees and the other trustees. Responsibilities
oversee our system of financial control, review financial reporting to board meetings, update each board meeting on the financial state of the charity and recommend financial decisions, manage the cash position of the charity to ensure that it can cover expenditure, provide expert support to our staff on financial management and control, prepare annual accounts, liaise with our Independent Examiner to have our accounts approved, oversee budgeting and planning. Skills and experience required
a professional accountancy qualification, commitment to the mission of Home-Start Watford and Three Rivers, willingness to meet the time requirement, integrity, strategic vision, good, independent judgement, ability to think creatively, willingness to speak your mind, acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities, and liabilities of being a trustee (we will supply training on this), and ability to collaborate successfully as a member of a team and to take decisions for the good of the charity.
