What will you be doing?
The volunteer will play a crucial role in providing support and guidance to individuals with learning disabilities and autism. Provide short-term/online counselling services. Signposting to available referral pathways. Conduct individual and/or group counselling sessions for individuals with learning disabilities and autism. Utilise counselling techniques, including cognitive-behavioural therapy, to address specific needs and challenges. Collaborate with other team members to create and implement effective support strategies. Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with organisational policies. Stay informed about current research and best practices in the field of counselling for individuals with learning disabilities and autism.
What are we looking for?
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counseling Psychology or a related field. Relevant experience in cognitive-behavioral therapy. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Empathy and a genuine interest in working with individuals with learning disabilities and autism. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
