What will you be doing?
The main current challenges for our board are to consolidate the organisational development we have undertaken in recent years, to enrich our skill set and to increase representation of the communities we serve. We need skills and experience to support our new Chief Executive Officer in his role of diversifying our sources of finance and enhancing the services we provide to the local community. Expertise we are seeking include financial management, fundraising, bid writing, marketing strategy, HR and operations management, organisational policy writing and IT and database systems. Useful, although not essential, would be familiarity with the situation and issues that face the South Asian and other communities of Manningham and Heaton.
What are we looking for?
Expertise we are seeking include financial management, fundraising, bid writing, marketing strategy, HR and operations management, organisational policy writing and IT and database systems.
What difference will you make?
As part of our board you will support and shape our work and strategic direction, as well as help us achieve our purpose to improve the lives of families in Manningham and Heaton. Last year we supported the benefit claims of 833 clients, thereby helping to bring almost £1.5 million of additional income into the community. We also helped stabilise £12,000 of debt for these clients. We supported 96 clients with problems of housing and 101 with issues concerning their immigration status. These services are vital for the wellbeing of the most disadvantaged in our community and your role as a trustee will help to secure these for the future. Still more significantly we are seeking skills and ideas that will boost our aims to grow and diversify the ways in which we engage with local people and communities and enhance their well-being.
