What will you be doing?
As a board of directors, you will be providing leadership and direction for the organisation. This is an opportunity for you to bring your skills and experience to support a well established local charity, that provide a specialist service to those affected by Domestic Abuse regardless of their sexuality. The ideal candidates will have experience in Finance and Fundraising, Media and Marketing, and Governance, an understanding of domestic abuse and the impact this has on our clients We would like our directors to attend our board meetings and work with the CEO to move the charity forward. This will be around 0-4 hours a month.
What are we looking for?
Director of Finance & Fundraising – To work with the administrator manager and CEO/manager to support them within the finances and fundraising as required plus looking at the long-term growth in line with the charities strategic and growth plan. To analyses the financial status of the charity and report the finances to the finance committee meetings, whilst monitoring the developing and implementing of accounting policies for the charity. To liaise were appropriate with the fundraiser to monitor and support in funding applications, to monitor and look at sustainable funding, to build links with local organisations and funding opportunities, report to the committee and the board. Director of Social Media/Marketing – To create a short and long term media growth strategy, to look to create and establish a presence for New Leaf Support across our social media, to ensure that the social media platform is updated weekly with articles of interest around Domestic Abuse, as well as weekly updates around Domestic Abuse on the platforms. To research marketing events and products, for the local community to promote our service. Director of Recruitment & Training – To undertake recruitment processes and employment, to work alongside the CEO/manager to recruit potential team members, and to sit on the recruitment panel, including volunteers for interviews and exits interviews. To maintain and monitor training packages for mandatory training and other training opportunities to support the team in progression of knowledge and expertise to be effective within their job title and roles across the charity. To perform annual appraisals for the team members including the manager, to look at their performance, growth of knowledge, annual leave and sick leave and report to the board via report any outcomes. To be the director point of call for the team, if they wish to discuss any issues or concerns in there role in the charity. To maintain and monitor training packages for mandatory training and other training opportunities to support the team in progression of knowledge and expertise to be effective within their roles across the charity.
