We are looking for an experienced and committed individual with an interest in animal welfare for the fundraising trustee role in our small dog rescue charity, able to provide and support the delivery of a strategic fundraising vision.

What will you be doing?

As a small charitable organisation, we are seeking a trustee to sit on our board. This trustee role will take responsibility for our fundraising/events management activities. The successful applicant will be expected to commit an average of 6-8 hours per week to their trustee duties. Role Summary You will be a passionate individual with experience in fundraising oversight and/or event management and an interest in animal welfare. You will be organized with excellent communication skills, able to write engaging and professional appeals and be confident picking up the phone to follow-up on potential leads. You will be confident building and overseeing a team of enthusiastic volunteers and ensuring individuals are completing actions as promised. You will be a team player, communicating and obtaining feedback from the trustees and our general manager. You will not be afraid to get involved and lead from the front – as a small charity all our trustees are actively involved in the day to day operations of the rescue. Responsibilities

Attend and report at one charity board meeting per month Lead one fundraising discussion group meeting per month with ad hoc interim meetings as required Provide input to the Annual Report and Annual General Meeting Lead development of the charity fundraising strategy and develop targets in line with finance forecasts available. Grow and lead a team of fundraising volunteers. Investigate and bring creative ideas for fundraising to the table Manage the charity fundraising calendar and activity trackers Lead the ongoing charity donations and sponsorship appeals Oversee and promote each fundraising campaign establishing the actions required to ensure success of the event and where these are delegated, providing oversight until the event is completed. Bring feedback for each event back to the charity team. Liaise with General Manager to ensure appropriate staffing levels are available for events and that preparations are completed in a timely manner Secure and liaise with suitable corporate charity partners for our charity Manage charity merchandise including obtaining quotes, ordering and re-stock as required. Ensure updates and trackers are maintained on the charities online workspace

IT competence (including Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Publisher etc.) Excellent written and verbal communications skills, Fundraising/event experience, Marketing experience (not critical but must be competent with social media) Ability to operate within a small, passionate leadership team, Ability to motivate and encourage volunteers.

Our ability to support the dogs in our care and provide the ideal environment for rehabilitation and potential for rehoming is not possible without our fundraising activities. Having a strategic plan will allow us to grow and maximise the impact our small rescue can have. As a trustee you will also have input into our overall charity vision and, working closely with the board, be a driver for our future growth and achieving our mission of rescuing and rehoming dogs in the UK.
