What will you be doing?
The Refugee and Asylum Charity Mentor will be responsible for providing emotional, practical, and social support to refugees and asylum seekers who have recently arrived in [Insert location]. The Mentor will work closely with the organization's staff to ensure that refugees and asylum seekers have access to the resources and support they need to integrate into their new community.
What are we looking for?
Demonstrable experience working with refugees and asylum seekers. Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with people from a diverse range of backgrounds. Empathy and sensitivity to the challenges faced by refugees and asylum seekers. Knowledge of the local community and services available to refugees and asylum seekers. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of the legal and policy frameworks that govern the rights of refugees and asylum seekers. Commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
