What will you be doing?

Are you looking for a rewarding and flexible volunteering opportunity that will allow you to develop your management skills? The 15th Wolverhampton Scouts are seeking a Volunteer Manager (also known as a Group Scout Leader) to lead and support our team of adult volunteers. As Volunteer Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Scout Group runs effectively and that Scouting within the Group develops in accordance with the rules and policies of the Scouts. This will involve managing and supporting the adult volunteers who deliver the Scouting programme to young people, as well as working with the Group Trustee Board and other key stakeholders. The time commitment for this role is approximately one hour per week, with the opportunity to get involved in additional activities as desired. Some evening and weekend work will be required. You will be given full training and support, including the opportunity to complete a Wood Badge qualification. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to provide advice and guidance to others, and the ability to inspire and lead the Scout Group. They will also have a flexible approach and the ability to work as part of a team. Experience of working with young people or in the Scouts or Guides is desirable but not essential. The volunteer manager will be the face of the Scout Group to the local community, so it is important that they are able to represent the Group in a professional and positive manner.
