Role Summary

  • Create print-ready artwork for various stationery and packaging products.
  • Collaborate with designers to translate design mockups into complete artwork files.
  • Maintain a design database with accurate artwork information.
  • Ensure artwork quality and consistency within the Design team.
  • Upload finished designs to our website and set them up for customer personalization.
  • Uphold standards for quality in uploading, file naming, artwork setup, and exporting.
  • Expand knowledge of print processes and production techniques.
  • Adhere to and help create brand guidelines for products and packaging.

Role Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in artwork for print and digital.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Interest in print & stationery design, knowledge of paper stock and print production is a plus.
  • Strong typography and layout skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management abilities.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently or as part of a team.

We're an emporium of eclectic designs, curated for our customers to make wondrously their own. As a Junior Artworker within the design team you will work closely with designers, creating print ready artwork for stationery and packaging products. You will help to ensure all digital work is well organised and of the highest quality, adhering to our brand guidelines. You will also support our designers in uploading our designs to our website and setting them up for customer personalisation.

This role reports into the Design Studio Manager and would also take on ad-hoc administrative duties as required to support our busy studio!

Main Areas of Responsibility

  • Utilise good skills in typography and layout artworking to create print ready artwork for print and web across a variety of stationery and accessory projects.
  • Translate design mock ups into complete artwork files by working closely with Stationery, Product and Packaging designers to deliver their artwork vision.
  • Maintain our design database with accurate information on artwork variations and artworking status.
  • Work with the design and artworking team to ensure accurate artwork storage and version control across all assets.
  • Work to maintain artwork quality and consistency within the Design team, ensuring our designs are set up correctly for print and web and all designs sent to print are correct, minimising errors and wastage.
  • Work closely with the designers to upload finished designs to our website for D2C, setting them up correctly for personalisation.
  • Support with setting and maintaining standards for quality, including correct uploading, file naming, artwork set up and exporting.
  • Proactively develop your own understanding or print processes and production to gain awareness of best artworking practice, and work with printers and colleagues where necessary to expand knowledge of new technology and techniques.
  • Be enthusiastic about the finer details & excited to help solve design problems, from the construction of a complex box to figuring out how to artwork our colours to pop as much as possible on the shelf.
  • Become an expert in our brand guidelines, ensuring all products and packaging adhere to these & working with our designers to create guidelines for new endeavours in the future.

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience delivering artwork across print and digital executions.
  • Excellent proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign skills
  • A strong interest and understanding in print & stationery design
  • Knowledge of paper stock, print techniques and print production a plus.
  • Strong typography and layout artworking skills
  • A solid understanding and track record of excellent execution of preparing artwork for print and web
  • Detail-oriented & organised with good time management skills and the ability to manage your own schedule.
  • Strong eye for detail, upholding high standards for artwork and production
  • Excellent problem solving skills, with the drive to seek out issues & make positive change.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work as part of a team as well as individually
  • Experience art-working paper products & hard-goods for production in global production facilities is a plus.
  • The ability to work at pace and previous experience of delivering consistent artwork in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility and willingness to react quickly to changing demands of the business
