Volunteer Head of Trusts and Foundations

What will you be doing?

We are It’s OK, a new national charity with the aim of helping and supporting young people with moderate to severe mental illness through mentorship, education and campaigning.  What will you be doing?

Create our Trust and Foundation grant fundraising strategy. Outline relevant Trust and Foundation grant fundraising opportunities. Develop relationships with Trust and Foundation funders. Contribute knowledge and expertise in fundraising techniques and operations. Recruit, manage and support bid writing volunteers alongside CEO. Apply for Trust and Foundation grants on an ongoing basis, with the support of CEO and volunteer bid writers. 

What are we looking for?

Proven track record of securing grants from trusts and foundations in a charity environment. A successful track record in a trust and foundation role.  Experience of developing and maintaining key relationships with trusts and foundations over a sustained period of time, and a thorough understanding of how charitable trusts and foundations operate. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Experience of line managing direct reports to deliver excellent work and supporting their professional development.  Demonstrable experience of writing successful, inspiring, emotive and technically accurate applications and proposals tailored to a trust and foundation audience. A clear understanding of why outcomes are important to trusts and foundations. Highly numerate with demonstrable experience of preparing and managing budgets. Good organisation skills, and competent in the use of Word, Excel and databases. An inspiring leader, who has previous experience of developing the skills and confidence of their team. A commitment to supporting young people living with moderate to severe mental illness
