At Age UK BPED we work to provide various services which benefit over 55s, but we can't sustain these services without the kind donations of those in the local community. Our Marketing and Fundraising volunteers help to raise these donations.

What will you be doing?
At Age UK BPED we want to help as many over 55s as possible, but we can’t do this without volunteers fundraising for our cause and spreading the word about the work we do. We have the Age UK name, however there is an important distinction to be made between ourselves and the national charity; we are in fact a local, independent charity and therefore rely on donations, grants, and corporate partnerships to support our operations and service delivery. Our Marketing and Fundraising volunteers will: - Attend fundraising events in the local community, encouraging charitable donors - Distribute our Guide to Services leaflets within the local community - Help with the organisation and set up of fundraising events, utilising their contacts and networks where possible - Offer ideas and suggestions for fundraising events
What are we looking for?
Fundraising and/or event organising experience is essential.
What difference will you make?
Our services are already having a big positive impact on the local community, with a relative of one of our Day Centre clients saying, "What a wonderful place the Day Centre is! The staff are all so friendly and caring with the clients. My mum loves going and it's a highlight of her week to spend time with other people of a similar age, chatting and having a lovely time together. Your hard work and dedication is very much appreciated, thank you all!" We currently provide the following services: - Day Services - Help at Home - Health and Wellbeing Services - Dementia Services - Footcare - Information and Advice - Community Connections The money raised by our Marketing and Fundraising volunteers will enable us to expand the scope of our current services and provide new services that will benefit over 55s in our local community. We all age and what we do now impacts the quality of services and, in turn, the quality of life, not only for over 55s today, but also for those who will be approaching this age bracket in future decades.
