What will you be doing?

We’ve got funding from Innovate UK to begin a new way of managing our sustainable Dance to Health groups. In Norfolk, we’re introducing a new more collaborative way of working to embed our groups into the local community. We’re setting up a new Norfolk branch of Dance to Health, the branch will be run by a Community Board which will oversee the running of all Dance to Health groups in the area. We’re looking for people local to this area to join the Community Board. We need people who are experts or advocates in falls prevention, or health and wellbeing for older people. We’re also looking for people who are practical and proactive and good at getting things done. Each Community Board will work alongside our Local Group Representation Committee which will be made up of participants, volunteers and Dance Artists from each of the Dance to Health groups. The Committee represents the views of all the participants an ensures that they are actively involved in how the sustainable groups are run and develop.   Could you be part of the Community Board? If you live in Norfolk, and are passionate about falls prevention or health and wellbeing for older people, we would love to hear from you.

What are we looking for?

Be a powerful advocate for Dance to Health and willing to champion our work through personal networks, social media, and other channels. Possess an in-depth knowledge of Norfolk and in particular Norwich and Great Yarmouth. A commitment to improving the health and wellbeing for older people in the Norwich and Norfolk community. Have lived experience of the issue of falls among older people would be an advantage. A keen sense of strategic purpose and leadership experience. An inclusive leadership style: able to inspire and support everyone to participate on an equal footing. The ability to listen and engage effectively. You are comfortable with challenge and debate and are able to encourage that in others whilst fostering a collaborative Board environment.

What difference will you make?

The Chair of the Board is a vital role. Your leadership and vision will help to secure the future of our sustainable groups and provide a valuable service for older people in Norfolk.
