What will you be doing?

We are looking for a volunteer that can provide guidance and expertise to enable us to move our services online. We currently have an ad-hoc hybrid system but want to build something intentional that will allow our clients to choose either online or in person coaching sessions. And if the online session is chosen, we’d like advice on the best way to integrate online meetings into the booking platform. Specifically we need help with

Managing bookings and appointments and referrals Delivering 1-2-1 meetings or counselling Gathering insight and feedback Digital inclusion

We would love a digital expert who can:

Help us clarify / test what our users’ needs are, and understand the needs of our organisation. In particular, our clients will have special access needs that must be considered Identify the tools and practices that are right for our organisation  Follow up with any further questions or outcomes.

What are we looking for?

We would like a forward looking Experienced IT Professional that would like to make a Major Difference in the lives of Thousands of Carers, Cared-for and Volunteers who will be using the Interactive Platform to be developed.

What difference will you make?

Approximately 1 in 8 people in the UK are unpaid carers (6.5 million) who support family members, friends, or neighbours to live independently in their own home and enhance their lives through the assistance provided. £13.6 Billion Pounds has been saved by the NHS due to the selfless contribution of Unpaid Carers. Brent Carers Centre is based in the London Borough of Brent, the most culturally diverse Borough in the whole of the United Kingdom, and home to the world-famous Wembley National Football Stadium. We are a member of the of the Carers Trust launched in 1991 by its Patron HRH Princess Royal. BCC currently supports 7,000 unpaid Carers within the Borough of Brent and aims to extend that support to over 30,000+ more unregistered unpaid Carers within the Borough. Currently our U.K NHS, Emergency and Support Services are seriously overwhelmed. Having a dynamic, interactive Volunteering & Befriending interactive website and portal, can make a world of difference to the lives of those who are struggling with challenges to their health and wellbeing, both mentally and physically, whilst caring for loved ones. Our New BCC Volunteering & Befriending Website and Portal would be an excellent modern-day avenue and vehicle to reach the many thousands of people (both Carers & Cared-for) and offer renewed hope and effective support, that will make a genuine difference in their lives. Both our Carers and Cared-for of all ages will be able gain Invaluable Skills through their interaction on our Website & Portal, and with each other.
