What will you be doing?
Poltimore House is an amazing Grade II* listed building. Thousands of people have fallen in love with it during their first visit, and many keep coming back. . The House and Grounds are owned by Poltimore House Trust, a charity which has ambitious plans for its restoration. A new and enthusiastic Board has been recruited aover the last two years, bring fresh energy and professional skills to the Trust. Despite a devastating arson attack in April 2024, the Trust remains fully committed to bringing this historic Devon mansion back to life as a focal point for the arts, business, communities, and wellbeing. Trustees are responsible for overall strategy and governance, but may also be involved in activities such as preparing grant applications or overseeing specific projects. Time commitment is flexible, but as a minimum it involves participation in Board or Committee meetings on average once or twice per month. We also welcome Trustees willing to take a more "hands-on" role in day-to-day actvities.
What are we looking for?
We are particularly interested in people with expertise and experience in the following, as well as a passion for historic buildings:
Business Communication Finance Fundraising Grounds Health & Wellbeing Heritage Project Management Volunteer Co-ordination.
