What will you be doing?
Village Rwanda UK is a succesful, thriving and growing charity. We are UK based and our work focuses solely on supporting communities in Gihombo, a remote and rural sector of Rwanda. Our intiatives include: a nursery school and feeding programme for nursery aged children; income generation projects including a Sewing Co-Operative; a Fish Drying Co-Operative; a safer, carbon friendly Stove Making enterprise; a boat which is hired out to the Stove Making enterprise and an animal husbandry project proving goats, pigs and chickens. The charity is currently run entirely by six voluntary trustees. We are looking for additional trustees with new ideas and initiatives and to replace some trustees who are looking to retire in the coming years. The skills we are looking for include business and project management, communication and engagement, tourism and any in Country experince. Trustees are encouraged to visit Rwanda to offer support and just to experince this wonderful country.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for people to fill a range of opportunities. The skills we are looking for include project or business management, education, overseas development and/or tourism. But mostly we are looking for people who are enthusiastic and keen to help communities in rural Rwanda become independent and self sufficient.
What difference will you make?
You will help a community who is struggling to make ends meet to become independent; able to support themselves and provide food and education for their children.
