What will you be doing?
As a Youth Worker, your primary responsibilities will be to:
Mentor and support young people within our services. Run projects that focus on issues like bullying, crime, confidence, addictions etc. Organise activities for young people. Correspond with young people, carers and parents. Facilitate workshops in schools and community settings. Keep and update confidential records within government guidelines. Manage relationships with external organisations including children, young people, parents and carers.
What are we looking for?
knowledge and empathy on the current issues facing young people At least three years experience of engaging, mentoring and working with young people in a professional setting excellent verbal communication skills sensitivity and understanding experience of delivering high quality, participative projects and campaigns the ability to work well with others patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations to be thorough and pay attention to detail an active listening and a non-judgmental approach IT skills, including usage of Microsoft Office suite.
