What will you be doing?

We’re excited about our decision to seek charity registration this year.  We hope this will enable us to extend our range of partners, strengthen what we do, and build a longer term and more sustainable future.  We expect that our work will still be needed for many years to come, though we’ve been encouraged by an increasing desire for more racially diverse Boards among charities of all sizes and across all sectors. We want to appoint up to 8 trustees (including a Chair and a Treasurer/Finance trustee) with the following professional skills and expertise:-

Business development, including income generation and fundraising - we need to increase our financial resources to be more sustainable and achieve our mission Charity governance - as a new charity, we’ll need expertise on the Board  Digital technology - to help us develop our customer reach and our website as a key communications and resource tool Equity, diversity and inclusion - it’s what we’re about!  Partnership development - we can’t do it on our own! Social media, communications and marketing - to help boost our brand, increase our reach and market our products

Other requirements

We are not looking for previous trustee experience and welcome first time trustees. We are not looking for people with senior management experience. We want you to have a passion for and commitment to EDI. We particularly encourage applications from younger individuals from Black and Asian backgrounds but not exclusively.  We have noticed during our work a lack of male potential trustees from Afro-Caribbean backgrounds and would encourage applications from them also.

What are we looking for?

Team working, strategic thinking, commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion Digital technology, social media, finance, equity, diversity and inclusion, communications and marketing

What difference will you make?

You will help make a significant difference to the racial diversity of trustee boards, You will enable Boards to have different perspectives and increased creativity and be more representative of the communities they support.  You will also support and enable aspiring trustees from Black and Asian backgrounds to be more aware of trustee opportunities and more confident in applying for them.
