What will you be doing?
A recently established charity, our vision is for everyone affected by Long Covid to have access to appropriate treatment and support. Established by people with lived experience of the condition, we want patients to be equal partners in all decisions about their health and welfare and to have equitable access to investigations, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. Through our networks, we will continue to ensure that a broad range of individuals and communities - within and beyond the UK - connect for support, to share information and perspectives, and have their rights and needs heard by decision makers. As volunteer and membership coordinator, you will work collaboratively with our trustees to identify and fill volunteering vacancies. You will lead on resourcing volunteers - understanding volunteering vacancies, posting volunteering opportunities, filtering applications and helping to coordinate interviews. You will assist with the on-boarding of volunteers, including coordination of paperwork and helping to deliver induction presentations. You will manage and coordinate volunteer schedules, and membership lists, act as the main point of contact for new joiners, help to coordinate training and also periodically check in with volunteers to identify any issues that require attention. The role is online so you are able to work from home. Joining Long Covid Support as a Volunteer and Membership Coordinator provides opportunities for those who wish to undertake activities which will benefit the community, and which will enhance a personal sense of achievement. With the ability to engage volunteers in a proactive manner, you will be organised and methodical, have knowledge of Long Covid Supports Constitution and our volunteer code of conduct. Files will be kept electronically, available to the Trustee Board. You will work closely with the chairperson on a weekly basis. Time commitment will on average be 2-3 hours work per week.

What difference will you make?
You will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our organisation by recruiting and managing a team of dedicated volunteers. Your work will directly contribute to the growth and sustainability of our organisation and help us achieve our purpose advocating and supporting individuals with Long Covid and their families. You will also have the opportunity to build and maintain positive relationships with volunteers, which will help to foster a supportive and engaged community
