  • Role Summary:
    • Develop and lead a 3-week outdoor leadership course.
    • Instruct international students for 3 hours a day, 4 afternoons each week.
    • Participate in evening activities on a rotating basis.
    • Prioritize student safety and well-being throughout the program.
  • Role Requirements:
    • Must have prior experience in outdoor education.
    • Previous teaching experience required.
    • Preference for candidates with experience in teaching international students.
    • Fluency in English is mandatory.
    • Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK or US.
    • Cannot sponsor UK work visas.

The Organisation - ISSOS We are an international summer school programme that offers a unique 3-week course. Our mission is to provide a balanced summer program of academia, fun and culture, where students can learn within an encouraging and supportive environment while having an amazing cultural experience.

The Role - Outdoor Leadership Teacher As the Outdoor Leadership Teacher, you will develop and lead this unique 3-week course, which aims to help our students develop and build on essential life skills like communication, decision-making, teamwork and confidence. You will be teaching a class of international students, 3 hours per day, 4 afternoons per week for the duration of the 3-week programme. You will also be involved in evening activities on a compulsory rota basis and ensure that students are safe and happy at all times.

Job Requirements Previous experience in an outdoor education role is essential. Previous teaching experience is also essential. Experience in teaching international students is preferred. You must be fluent in English. You must either be a UK or a US citizen, or have the legal right to work in the country you are applying for a role in. Please note that we cannot sponsor visas for working in the UK.

Benefits We offer a competitive salary package. For the Cambridge session, we offer £2000 GBP and for the Yale session, we offer $2500 USD. We also provide accommodation in all locations for all staff. Meals are provided in the halls of residence once students arrive. We also offer travel reimbursements.

Additional Information All of our staff must pass a full criminal background check. All staff are required to be on duty (on a rota basis) for evening programmes, activities, day trips and arrival/departure days.
