Role Summary

  • Plan and execute the global email calendar to drive customer engagement, conversion, and retention.
  • Support the Retention Manager with lifecycle journey execution and other retention initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create targeted campaigns and personalized messaging.
  • Manage A/B testing and optimization to continuously improve campaign performance.
  • Analyze campaign data, report on performance, and provide actionable insights.

Role Requirements

  • 1-2 years of marketing experience, specifically in email marketing for a D2C ecommerce business.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms, ideally Braze, and familiarity with analytics tools like Looker or Google Analytics.
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of marketing KPIs.
  • Excellent communication, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
  • Creative mindset with a track record of developing campaigns that drive conversion.

Papier’s collection of stationery products, from notebooks & diaries to notecards and wedding invitations, is designed to feed curiosity and contemplation, to invite people to uncover the possibility of a blank page.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Retention Marketing Executive to join the team to deliver the email marketing strategy to drive engagement, conversion and customer retention at Papier.

Reporting into the Retention Manager, you will be responsible for planning and executing the global email calendar, reporting on performance and supporting the Retention Manager with lifecycle journey execution. As a CRM role that sits within the Retention team, you will be primarily responsible for delivering the campaign strategy, but will also have the opportunity to get involved with other Retention initiatives such as paid media, bounceback campaigns and referral / loyalty.

The successful candidate will have 1-2 years marketing experience, with a demonstrated experience in email marketing and a positive can-do attitude. Areas of Responsibility include:

  • Manage the email campaign calendar, planning campaigns and customer promotions based on past learnings, business priorities, promotions and launches, being reactive to new opportunities and challenges
  • Identify new approaches to drive email engagement and CVR, including ways to personalise messaging
  • Identify appropriate user segments to target with each campaign and build using our customer data platform Segment
  • Work with the Retention Manager and the wider Performance Marketing team to plan and set-up customer only promotions based on past activity, learnings, and new test ideas
  • Manage an effective A/B testing programme and optimisation plan, report on learnings, taking learnings into future planning
  • Brief the creative team on all email designs, clearly outlining the campaign objectives and key messages and providing feedback
  • Continually review creative and optimise performance in collaboration with the creative team
  • Work with onsite visual merchandising team to deliver optimum journey from email to site and deliver strong CVR
  • Execute and build the campaigns in our CRM platform Braze in an efficient manner, with strong attention to detail, and identify ways in which to streamline processes
  • Report on campaign and promotion performance and test results with our analytics tool Looker; providing narrative around whether the campaigns were a success, comparing to benchmarks and any outlining optimisation recommendations
  • Support the Retention Manager on the execution of lifecycle set-up, builds and test reporting, as well as other Retention projects where required, such as referral, driving opt-in rate onsite, paid retention campaigns, bounceback and more

Requirements

  • At least 1-2 years experience in email marketing, with experience building and deploying campaigns for a D2C ecommerce business
  • Experience working with an industry standard CRM platform required, Braze experience preferred but not essential
  • Are proficient with Excel and have experience using analytics tools (Looker, Google Analytics or similar)
  • Are data-driven, with excellent analysis and reporting skills, and have a strong understanding of marketing KPIs
  • Are creatively minded and enjoy coming up with engaging campaigns that drive conversion
  • Have great communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and brief creative teams
  • Are highly organised and detail oriented, are able to multitask, meet deadlines and pivot quickly
  • Are enthusiastic, eager to learn, and are motivated to use your initiative to learn about new opportunities and drive business growth
