Managing the delivery of Virgin’s new office project (Whitfield Studios) over the next 10 months, including stakeholder management, reporting, managing risks, issues and milestones and co-ordinating the move into the property in Q4 2024.   

Key responsibilities

    • Working with the project team to realise the vision for Virgin’s “new home” Whitfield Studios  
    • Continue to develop and manage the delivery plan, scope, deliverables, and timeline (building on the work undertaken since October 2022). 
    • Act as a liaison between the project team, steering committee, project sponsors, and other stakeholders. 
    • Driving the project towards successful completion, meeting objectives and delivering high-quality outcomes 
    • Managing project reporting, preparing and leading team meetings, capturing and managing risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies (RAIDDs) 
    • Coordinate and facilitate project activities, ensuring tasks are assigned and completed on schedule.   Working with Digital Lead, Physical Lead and Operations Lead to ensure delivery of scope items 
    • Monitor project progress and track key performance indicators including progress against OKR’s  
    • Monitor project budget and pre-opening budget, track expenditures, and ensure the project remains withing budget 
    • Working with Digital Lead on implementation of smart technology  
    • Supporting on tender process for various contractors, including ensuring contracts are complete with payments 
    • Team issue and escalation point 
    • Manage project changes, including assessing impact, obtaining approvals and adjusting plans 
    • aligning plans across architects, contractors, advisors and generally being able to manage lots of amazing ideas / rationalise what is achievable with stakeholders.  
    • Developing and planning strategies for project adoption​ 
    • Closure and handover documentation​ 
    • Providing leadership, guidance, and support to the project team, fostering a positive and productive work environment 
    • Delivering project training where required

Transferable skills

    • An individual who can live and breathe the Virgin purpose and traits and be an advocate for the brand throughout the project, not losing sight of the vision. 
    • Encouraging project team to be brave and visionary but also balance reality and budget (Day 1 vs Year 2 etc) 
    • Ability to manage senior stakeholders and also escalate where needed 
    • Strong personal attributes, supporting the vision, but bringing a reality check and some grounding to the project, so that we get to move in within the timescales! 
    • A can-do attitude, positive energy and an excellent sense of humour are essential! 

The fundamentals

    • Previous delivery and project management experience is essential 
    • Experience of VML and Virgin Red cultures and ways of working an advantage 
    • Experience of construction and office fit out an advantage but not essential 
    • Experience using Microsoft Teams to manage projects is an advantage 
    • Experience using Monday.com is an advantage
