Role Summary:

  • Lead the verification and qualification of the Galileo system as the qualification authority.
  • Manage the ground segment qualification and the overall system integration and verification programme.
  • Work closely with the Head of the System AIV and Deployment Service to oversee the Galileo project activities.

Role Requirements:

  • A master's degree in physics, electrical, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in system-level testing, integration, and deployment.
  • Experience organizing test campaigns and knowledge of large-scale distributed ground segment infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of GNSS technology and infrastructure is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to operational sites or AIV factories.

The European Space Agency is seeking a Head of Galileo Qualification Unit. This role is based in our ESTEC establishment in Noordwijk, Netherlands. The Role: As the Head of Galileo Qualification Unit, you will report to the Head of the System AIV and Deployment Service in the management of the overall activities related to the verification and qualification of the Galileo system. You will be responsible for fulfilling the role of qualification authority of the Galileo project, performing an incremental qualification of the overall Galileo system infrastructure, managing the corresponding ground segment qualification, and establishing and implementing an overall system integration and verification programme of work.

Job Requirements: You should have a master's in physics, electrical or aerospace engineering or a related field. At least 10 years of experience in system-level testing, integration and deployment, including the organisation of the related test campaigns is required. Good knowledge of large-scale distributed ground segment infrastructure is essential. Knowledge of GNSS technology and infrastructure would be considered an asset. You must be prepared to travel on a regular basis, as many of the activities will take place at operational sites or at the AIV factories.
