The role is based at the ESA HQ in Paris, France. Under the direct authority of the Director General, the Communication Department is responsible for establishing and implementing the ESA communication policy, providing communication support for the preparation of future programmes, acting as the Agency’s focal point and spokesperson for all interactions with the media, among other tasks.

The ESA Branding and Partnerships Office leads two specific areas of ESA’s communication output. On one side, the office is responsible for the development, evolution and application of ESA’s corporate brand. On the other side, the office also develops and implements strategic co-branding and long-term communication partnership activities.

The intern will be responsible for identifying and developing a business case for future strategic brand partnerships. The tasks will be carried out in supervision, support and cooperation with the ESA Branding and Partnerships Office.

Applicants must have student status and be enrolled at university for the entire duration of the internship. They should preferably be in their final or second to last year of a university course at master’s level in a technical or scientific discipline. The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.

Specific relevant competence in one of the following areas shall be considered an asset: Business development, marketing and/or communications. The intern should have good interpersonal and communication skills and should be able to work in a multi-cultural environment, both independently and as part of a team.

Please note that applications are only considered from nationals of one of the following States: Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. Nationals from Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia and Slovenia, as Associate Member States, or Canada as a Cooperating State, can apply as well as those from Bulgaria, Croatia and Cyprus as European Cooperating States (ECS).
