The Role We’re seeking an accomplished, experienced and goal-oriented financial controller to join the tiney finance team. Working directly with the CFO, you will be responsible for day to day invoices, payroll and financial reporting, working on management budgets and forecasts, monitoring cash flow and board financial documentation and KPIs.

Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting and Analysis: You will prepare and analyse financial statements including balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement. In this role you will provide insights into financial trends, variance and KPIs to aid strategic decision making. You will lead our relationship with our accountants working on full year and management accounts.

Budgeting and Forecasting: You will develop, monitor and manage budgets in coordination with various departments and the CFO. As part of this you will build a process to forecast financial outcomes based on existing trends, past financial performance and business initiatives. We want to be able to analyse business performance versus our forecasts and you will execute on this initiative.

Financial Operations Management and Cash flow management: You will oversee payroll, accounts payable, processing invoices, purchase orders and ensuring budget compliance. Supervise and coordinate day to day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger. Optimise processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial transactions and reporting. You will work closely with the CFO to monitor cash flow, liquidity and working capital to ensure the financial stability of the company and aid the ability to meet its financial obligations.

Compliance, Audits and External Relations: Ensure compliance with relevant laws and accounting standards. Implement internal controls to mitigate financial risks and maintain the integrity of financial data. Coordinate financial audits and collaborate with external auditors to ensure accurate and timely completion of audit processes.

Board and Investor Documentation: You will have an active role in maintaining our company shareholder register and maintaining and executing our internal option scheme. Working with the CFO you will assist in building and maintaining board packs and investor reports which includes internal KPI reporting and required documentation. Interact with stakeholders both internal and external to provide financial updates and information.

Financial Software and Technology: Assist in the implementation of new financial software. Utilise financial software and tools to streamline processes, maintain data accuracy and generate financial reports.

Qualifications and Skills Previous bookkeeping experience essential, with 5+ years experience desirable. Experience working with accountants on management accounts, invoices, payables and payroll. Experience of using Xero, Shareholder register and cap table software tools, EMI databases, Nest, Payroll. Excel skills are important, including pivot tables, lookups, and if statements. Strong task management skills including an ability to prioritise tasks and regularly manage multiple deliverables independently. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues. Have a positive attitude. Self motivated. Experience working in early stage businesses is preferable. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.

Location Tiney is a nationwide company. We work in a remote-first way, but many of our team are located within commuting distance of our office space in Holborn, London and usually come in a few days a week.
