Role Summary:

  • Facilitate meaningful interactions between donors and school professionals.
  • Administer our Coaching Programme, sharing expertise to empower teachers and leaders.
  • Streamline the ambassador volunteer process to align with our core mission.
  • Collaborate with the Community Team and Fundraising Partnership Managers to ensure the excellence of all engagement opportunities.

Teach First is committed to building a fair education for all, unlocking the potential in all children. As a Community Engagement Officer, you will play an important part in maintaining an active and committed community who feel connected to each other, to us and to our mission. You will manage and deliver a range of high-quality opportunities for volunteers across different audience groups to support Teach First’s work.

The role entails enabling donors to work directly with teachers and leaders in schools, sharing expertise and lived-experience through our Coaching Programme, and supporting our ambassador volunteer process. You will ensure that engagement opportunities are coherent and aligned with Teach First’s mission and vision. You will work closely with our wider Community Team, as well as Partnership Managers in Fundraising, to ensure activities are delivered to the highest degree of quality.

Job requirements include a track record of successfully managing and monitoring the implementation of multiple project plans, an in-depth understanding of how to work with schools, and experience of managing and developing external stakeholder relationships. You should also demonstrate experience of supporting and creating a culture where the customer comes first, both internally and externally.
