The British Museum is seeking an Administration Manager for Collections Care and Scientific Research. This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 6 months, covering maternity leave. The role involves managing a team of staff delivering effective administrative support for two large Museum departments. This includes budget and resource management, financial processing and monitoring, health and safety compliance, office management, and coordination and support of travel and events.

Key responsibilities include line management of the team, prioritising and programming work in collaboration with Heads of Department and the Programme Manager, and developing and maintaining consistent processes and procedures. The successful candidate will also work with departments to develop and maintain a stakeholder management plan.

The ideal candidate will have project management training or equivalent experience, experience of budget/accounts management and finance administration, and a good understanding of health and safety legislation. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, as is the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders.
