The Role The V&A is a family of museums dedicated to the power of creativity. Our mission is to champion design and creativity in all its forms, advance cultural knowledge, and inspire makers, creators and innovators everywhere. The Archives section of the V&A is responsible for the management of the Museum’s institutional records and the archive collections - principally the Theatre and Performance Archives and the Archive of Art and Design, together with the archive collections of Young V&A.

The role will enable the postholder to develop skills in several aspects of archival practice and collections care, including cataloguing and rehousing archives, as well as supporting the place of archives in knowledge development and research at the V&A. Successful candidates will have practical and organisational skills, experience of working with the public and an interest in working with archives. As well as good IT and communication skills, we will be seeking experience of working with archives and data systems, ideally in a museum setting.
