The Role This is an exciting opportunity to join Bloomsbury’s successful academic film and media and British Film Institute team. The role will involve commissioning and managing a strong publishing programme across topics in film and media, as well as commissioning as part of our publishing partnership with the British Film Institute (BFI). You will be working on books ranging from scholarly monographs to titles aimed at a crossover academic/general readership, and also on our digital resource for the moving image, Screen Studies. The role will report to the Senior Publisher, and will work closely with an Editorial Assistant and a Commissioning Editor.

Job Requirements Previous experience of commissioning academic or illustrated non-fiction books and a keen interest in cinema and media is an advantage. An interest in and experience of studying and/or working in film and media, or related disciplines is required. Strong analytic and financial skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing and verbally are necessary.
