  • Role Summary:
    • Deliver subject-specific training to teachers on our Training Programme, primarily through online platforms.
    • Utilize your expertise to enhance learning design across various programmes.
    • Support a portfolio of trainees in developing their subject knowledge and pedagogical skills.

  • Role Requirements:
    • Proven experience in developing others within your subject specialism.
    • Expertise in the pedagogy of your subject and possession of QTS (or equivalent).
    • Experience as a school leader and familiarity with Teachers’ Standards, ITT Core Content Framework, and the Early Career Framework.
    • Minimum of two years mentoring and coaching inexperienced teachers through training routes such as PGCE, Schools Direct, or Teach First.

As a Development Lead - Subject, you will work on our Training Programme to teach a subject-specific area of our secondary curriculum. You will deliver training to our teachers, largely online, to support their progress. You will also use your expertise both as a teacher and a subject specialist to contribute to our learning design across programmes. You will work with a portfolio of trainees to develop their subject knowledge and subject-specific pedagogy. You will collaborate with other support roles, to see trainees grow into leaders, committed to making a difference to educational inequality.

We are looking for someone with experience of developing others within the context of your subject specialism. You should be a subject matter expert, with exemplary knowledge of the pedagogy underpinning your subject specialism. You should have QTS (or equivalent) and have been a school leader. Your knowledge of the Teachers’ Standards (2012), the Initial Teacher Training (ITT) Core Content Framework and the Early Career Framework should be excellent. You should have developed, mentored and coached inexperienced teachers within a training route for at least two years e.g. PGCE, Schools Direct, Teach First etc.
