Highclere Castle has an exciting opportunity for a full time Events Manager. We are looking for someone with experience of organising events, receptions, and weddings at a high quality venue, who has been involved in all stages of the process, from initial enquiry to the running of the event.

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, well organised, and self-motivated person who works well as part of a team in a busy office environment. It is essential that the candidate has a personable nature, a can-do attitude and an exceptional eye for detail. They must also have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, as well as a working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Applicants should be confident and competent working with a variety of computer software.

This is a full-time position, although given the nature of the industry the hours worked and tasks involved will inevitably vary from week to week. The successful candidate must therefore be flexible and willing to work evenings and weekends on events as required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Liaising with key stakeholders both within and outside of the business, including Head Chef, Head Guide, Banqueting Manager, suppliers, and registry offices for wedding clients.

• Creating function sheets for events to be shared with heads of departments.

• Working closely with the IT department to oversee the sale of event tickets and website

testing for upcoming events before their release.

• Managing the diary to help schedule events and show prospective clients around the Castle.

• Dealing with a high volume of telephone and email enquiries to ensure all customer enquiries

are responded to effectively within reasonable time.

• Working closely with other events managers to provide relevant support with larger public

ticketed events.

• Inputting data on our CMS.

• Engaging with suppliers and clients throughout to process invoices

About you:

• Have an interest in gaining a good knowledge of the history of the Castle in order to provide

information to prospective clients and during events.

• Knowledge of hospitality and banqueting service styles for weddings and private dining events.

• Ideally first aid and fire safety trained in order to be the first port of call for first aid when

running an event.

• Good knowledge of the CMS/Database systems for data inputting and dealing with and

invoicing along with stationary printing for events.

• Enjoy working in an environment where no two days are the same.

• Flexible with working hours, including evening and weekend work throughout the year.

Salary range: £34,500 - £36,000 per annum.
