  • Drive sponsored content and ad sales to publishers and book marketers.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to acquire customers and manage the sales pipeline.
  • Generate leads and nurture customer relationships within the publishing industry.
  • Collaborate with teams to create sales materials and campaign proposals.
  • Conduct market research, set ad product rates, and innovate new sponsored content opportunities.
  • Create revenue forecasts and strategic plans for the ads business.
  • Proven experience in leading sales and driving revenue growth, particularly in sponsored content or ad sales.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to influence and close sales.
  • Hands-on experience in building a sponsored content or ad sales business in a startup environment.
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and comfortable with the fast pace of startup culture.
  • Passion for stories is a significant plus.

Fable helps people organize all of their reading and watching in one central place. Members can create and share lists, follow other members, import their reading lists from other platforms, and rate and review books and shows.


We are looking for an experienced Sales Director who will be responsible for driving sponsored content and ad sales to publishers and book marketers.


- Own and manage the sales pipeline as Fable’s first dedicated Sponsored Content and Ad Sales leader

-   Establish and execute a sales and go-to-market plan to acquire customers

-   Generate leads and sales opportunities by identifying high-potential partners, executing outbound outreach, and developing ongoing customer relationships across the publishing industry

-   Partner with cross-functional teams to update sales collateral and develop campaign proposals for customers

-   Understand customer needs and ensure successful execution and high ROI for publishers to drive repeat business;  Partner closely with cross-functional teams to execute on sponsored content sales and ensure customer success

 -   Conduct market research to understand competitive landscape and determine ad product rates

-   Identify and drive opportunities for new sponsored content and ad products to scale the business line;  Partner closely with cross-functional teams to design and build new products

-   Develop quarterly forecasts and execution plans for revenue growth

-   Set strategic vision for our ads business beyond the publisher category


-   Experience owning and driving the top line of the company. You will own Sponsored Content and Ad Sales revenue and be accountable for growth

-   Experience leading sales for sponsored content and/or ads (especially in the book space), and a track record of driving revenue growth 0-1 and beyond

 -   Excellent presentation, communication, and influencing skills to articulate value propositions and generate customer interest leading to a sale

-   Experience in defining sales metrics, and driving decisions based on data and/or qualitative feedback

-   Hands-on experience building a sponsored content or ad sales business at an early stage company


-   You're self-motivated, and take ownership and responsibility

-   You love working with smart, fun, sincere and dedicated peers

-   You want to be the one to make it happen

-   You are resilient and can cope with ambiguity

-   Comfortable in a fast-paced and at times unpredictable start-up environment

-   Big plus if you have a love for stories!
