Role Summary:

  • Lead the Assessment team in developing high-quality carbon projects from origination to certification.
  • Collaborate with experts to review and consolidate scientific components of projects.
  • Ensure the focus on high-quality, high-potential projects and present them to the Assessment Committee.
  • Coach and manage team members, providing guidance and maintaining a holistic project view.

Role Requirements:

  • Proven track record in delivering data-driven assessments in complex environments.
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in coaching and iterative approaches to analytics.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote, international team.
  • Passion for making a tangible impact and experience in Nature Based Solutions (NBS) preferred.

The role

Revalue Nature (RVN) is looking for an exceptional Manager to join our Assessment team.

As the Assessment Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the end-to-end development of projects, starting from their origination to their certification by a carbon standard such as Verra.

In this role, you will build a holistic view of the project and oversee its content. You will collaborate with our team of experts, including scientists, foresters, and biodiversity leads, to consolidate and critically review the scientific components. You will also work closely with the project manager to help prioritize and drive projects' progress.

Your primary objective will be to critically review and challenge our projects, ensuring that we focus Revalue resources on the highest quality, highest potential projects. Additionally, you will present the projects to the Assessment Committee when decisions need to be made.

We are looking for a versatile leader with exceptional conceptual, analytical and communication skills, a talent for solving complex problems, and a willingness to delve into details and acquire knowledge quickly. Previous experience in Nature Based Solutions (NBS) is highly preferred.

This is a full time position.

Location: ideally UK/Europe; Africa or SE Asia will also be considered

What you will do

  • Coach and manage a team of Assessment Associates and Analysts
  • Structure the sequence of assessment categories to ensure efficiency
  • Give team guidance on assessment/content requirements
  • Pressure test & review assessment write ups to ensure they are clear, to the point and answer the right questions
  • Hold a holistic view of multiple projects in your mind
  • Ensure team has a shared mental model of our projects at all times
  • Bring assessments to the Assessment Committee

  • Outstanding analytical skills and critical thinking, ability to think strategically about assessments across our pipeline
  • Effective problem solving and ability to identify gaps in assessments and analysis
  • Exceptional track record of coaching team members in data-driven assessment methods and iterative approaches to analytics
  • Ability to create clarity & structure around assessments
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Driven by a sense of purpose and a desire to make a tangible impact
  • Evidence that you can work in remote teams, are a self-driver with a willingness to take initiative and committed to continuous improvement and high-performance within a complex and fast-growing sector
  • Excited to be part of an international remote-working team with a proven ability to function effectively within diverse cultural environments
