What will you be doing?

Our not-for-profit Community Interest Company delivers approaches and events to help lifelong learners aged 18 and over achieve success at all stages of their career journeys through experiential learning (learning by doing) opportunities. These experiential learning opportunities can be formal or informal and can be delivered within our network of experiential learning stakeholders or by our organisation itself.  We are urgently looking for an experienced content producer to work with us as we grow our stakeholder and customer networks and connections. Our challenges include being a small organisation with fewer resources, and the need to engage a variety of stakeholders. Your contribution will go a long way to helping us succeed with our mission to help thousands of people achieve their full potential at all stages of their lives. We would like the volunteer to help with:

Thinking through our different audiences’ information needs and how we can present that effectively Article writing: Creating engaging articles for LinkedIn and our website that will appeal to our different types of stakeholders LinkedIn post copywriting: Create compelling content posts for LinkedIn that will help enable     audience engagement such as likes, comments and reposts Lead magnet copywriting: Create well-written copy for use in fact sheets, white papers and other downloadable lead magnets or promotional materials Copyediting: Edit existing copy for grammar and typos, and to make sure it is consistent with the style and voice of our organisation Case study writing and storytelling: Help communicate our impact via stories and case studies that we can use on our website, on social media, in marketing materials, or in our annual report Communication materials review: Review our existing communications materials. Recommend edits that will provide us with consistency in writing style and tone, accurate spelling and grammar, and a clear and engaging voice for our organisation

You will be working with our strategic director who will provide an overview of our existing communication and marketing materials, as well as our content strategy and brand guidelines. 

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a volunteer who has

Very strong writing and editing skills Understanding of use of, and ability to write for, different mediums and formats Experience in copywriting, marketing, public relations, communications or journalism Ability to write with brand at front of mind using our voice and style Ability to write for different target audiences Accuracy and attention to detail Ability to quickly understand the needs of our team / organisation / users Can ask key questions to enable us to clarify requirements Understands the resource constraints of a small not-for-profit and is able to work with these Open to feedback Collaborative Willing and able to form part of a virtual team and contribute to team goals
