  • Role Summary:
    • Engage with key stakeholders to drive campaigns for improved conditions in the garment industry.
    • Deliver lobbying efforts and design actions targeting brands and policymakers.
    • Represent LBL's mission in the media and public platforms.
  • Role Requirements:
    • Minimum 3 years' experience in national or international campaigning.
    • Exceptional communication and public speaking skills.
    • Proven media experience and journalist relationship management.
    • Experience in lobbying and project management.
    • Knowledge of labour rights and human rights issues.

Labour Behind the Label (LBL) is a workers’ cooperative dedicated to supporting garment workers' efforts worldwide to improve their working conditions, wages, and ensure their basic rights are respected. We do this through lobbying retailers, brands and political leaders; raising public awareness; promoting campaign action; and exploring legal possibilities for improving conditions.

The Advocacy Lead is responsible for engaging with key stakeholders in campaigns to call for better conditions in the garment industry and pushing our message in the media. They take part in LBL’s outward facing work, delivering lobbying and campaigns, and designing actions to push brands and policy decision makers to improve conditions.

Job requirements include 3+ years’ experience of delivering effective national or international campaigning strategies and activities, excellent communication skills, good public speaking abilities, significant experience in media work and developing relationships with journalists, experience of lobbying, project management experience, and knowledge of labour rights and human rights issues.

Benefits include 6% employer and 4% employee pension contribution, 25 days plus bank holidays holiday, flexible hours, and a working from home allowance. The role is subject to a 3 month probation period and requires occasional travel to London, Bristol and Leicester.
