The Components Engineer will be part of the Components Section, Data Systems, Microelectronics and Component Technology Division, Electrical Department, Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality. The Components Section provides functional support to ESA projects and carries out technological research (R&D) in the field of electrical, electronic and electromechanical (EEE) components with a strong focus on technologies and processes, development and reliability, as well as on ground qualification activities.

The role entails providing expert technical support and consultancy to ESA projects, programmes and general studies in the fields of passive and RF passive EEE throughout all project phases. You will also contribute to the definition of technology development requirements and work plans for the Agency’s technology programmes. You will be responsible for defining, initiating and managing R&D activities covering both long- and short-term needs.

Job requirements include a master’s degree in electronics engineering or a related subject and a minimum of five years of professional experience. Professional experience in space projects and products is an asset. Applicants must be eligible to access technology and hardware which is subject to European and US export control regulations & security clearance by their national security administrations.
